The clinic for Anaesthesiology at the University Hospital Aachen not only provides numerous EMS physicians in the emergency doctor services but also the administrative and organizational position of the medical director of EMS is staffed by the clinic. The EMS physicians of Aachen treat patients in around 7500 emergencies every year. Besides the important relationships to stakeholders, the clinic for Anaesthesiology plays a pioneering role in emergency care on a national as well as international level.
The experienced EMS physicians of the clinic at the University Hospital Aachen offer their Know-how and expertise about emergency services in the research project TemRas. Basis for the further development of the telemedical rescue assistance system is the experience as tele-EMS physician in the previous project Med-on-@ix. The physicians are responsible for different areas. On the one hand they take care of the requirement management as well as the development of organizational concepts, whereas on the other hand they also develop training concepts and are responsible for the organizational support of the rescue services. Additionally, the tele-EMS physicians contribute to academic evaluations of the system during the one year trial phase.
